Primary thoracic intramedullary spinal cord tumor with likely metastases of glial origin to the lumbosacral vertebrae: Illustrative case

Background: Metastasis of systemic neoplasms to the spine is common; however, metastasis primary spinal cord tumors other regions in body an infrequent occurrence. A few case reports have described tumors, and most cases, patients were younger than 30 years age. Case Description: We present illustrative a 47-year-old female with metastatic lesions lumbosacral vertebrae after initial diagnosis intradural, intramedullary tumor (IMSCT). Although surgical biopsy IMSCT was nondiagnostic, patient not found separate neoplastic source, specimens from lumbar vertebral glial origin. Conclusion: IMSCTs extremely rare. Distant intracranial are even rarer yet possible. The clinical course highly aggressive responds poorly current standard treatment.
